Budget hosting (GoDaddy, 123-reg, Bluehost): a server and nothing else. Someone looks after the tech (WP Engine, Kinsta, SiteGround): they keep the software updated and handle security and backups — but you manage your own content, plugins, and themes. Which hosting tier should I choose?

Starter (£20/mo) is for brochure sites where we handle everything — you email us changes and we update the site for you. Professional (£30/mo) is for content sites with an admin panel where you update your own text, photos, and blog posts. Self-Managed Shop (£45/mo) is for online shops where you manage products and content yourself; we handle the technical side, payments, and security. Business Growth (£75/mo) is for shops or busy sites where you want us to handle content updates too, plus a monthly performance report and feature tweaks. Enterprise (£150/mo) is for mission-critical sites needing 8-hour priority response, disaster recovery, and bespoke security. Every tier includes daily backups, SSL, and security monitoring.

Self-Managed Shop vs Business Growth — which one for my shop?

Self-Managed Shop (£45/mo) suits shop owners who are happy to add and edit their own products, write their own descriptions, and update prices and stock. We keep the site, payments, and security running. Business Growth (£75/mo) is for shop owners who want us to handle content updates as well — plus a monthly one-pager covering what's selling, how people are finding the shop, and any checkout drop-off worth a closer look. Both tiers handle checkout traffic and secure payments. Most new shops start on Self-Managed Shop and move up to Business Growth once they want monthly reporting or stop wanting to do their own product updates.

Can I migrate my existing site to your hosting?

Yes — we handle the full migration including DNS, database, files, and SSL certificate setup. Most migrations complete within 24 hours with zero downtime.

What happens if my site goes down?

Our monitoring detects downtime quickly. Starter, Professional, and Self-Managed Shop plans get email support. Business Growth includes monthly feature tweaks. Enterprise plans get 8-hour priority response.

What does the monthly fee cover?

It covers the cloud server, daily automated backups, security monitoring, SSL certificate, tracking set up properly (so you can see what the site is actually doing), and content updates (Starter £20/mo) or technical maintenance including database and software updates (Professional £30/mo and above). Everything your site needs to stay fast, secure, and online.

What tracking and reporting do I get?

Every plan starts with tracking set up properly — you'll see phone clicks, email clicks, and contact form submissions. Visitor recordings are also installed as standard — you can log in and watch real, anonymous recordings of how people use your site, see where they click, and find where they get stuck. Most builders don't include this. Your site is also registered with Google from the start so they find every page. On Starter and Professional plans, you can ask me any time for an update — I'll send you the numbers within a day. On Business Growth, you get a one-page summary at the start of every month covering your traffic, what people searched to find you, the findings from the visitor recordings, and whether anything needs a closer look. For online stores, the monthly snapshot also covers what's selling, traffic patterns by product, and any checkout drop-off worth a closer look.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes — monthly plans can be cancelled with 30 days notice. We will provide a full export of your website files and database so you can migrate to another provider.

Can't I just use free hosting like Netlify or Vercel?

Those platforms are excellent for developers who want to manage their own deployments. But they don't include backups, security monitoring, email hosting, content updates, or support. If you're comfortable managing all of that yourself, they're a great option. If you'd rather have someone handle it for you, that's what our plans are for. If you're comparing us to services like WP Engine or Kinsta (£25–£50/mo), they keep the technical side running but don't update your content or give you direct access to the person who built your site. Our plans include both, starting from £20/mo.

£20/month seems a lot when hosting can cost £5

£5/month gets you a server and that's it — no backups, no security, no one updating your site, no email, no support. If your site uses WordPress, you're also responsible for keeping the software updated and fixing anything that breaks. Our Starter plan includes all of that plus your site hosted on Amazon's cloud. Most small business owners tell us the content updates alone are worth the difference.

Do I need to pay extra for content updates or business email?

No on every tier except Self-Managed Shop. Business email is included on every plan from £20/month. Small content updates (text tweaks, photo swaps, the odd blog post) are included on Starter, Professional, Business Growth, and Enterprise — Self-Managed Shop (£45/mo) is the exception, where you manage products and content yourself through the admin panel. Some providers charge a mandatory base care plan that covers only technical maintenance, then charge an additional £35–£65/month for content updates and £5–£8/month for email. With us, it's all included on the relevant tiers — one monthly fee, no add-ons. New pages or full redesigns are quoted separately on every tier.
